One of three
Wiseguy, M*A*S*H, and 60 Minutes were the only TV shows my dad and I could ever agree on, and watched together.

Great cast and crew, excellent storyline; Wiseguy was an outstanding display of what entertaining television should be.

Missing song
I just got the series DVD. I was watching the last Sonny Steelgrave arc when they were sitting in the movie theater staring at each other. I vividly remember "Nights in White Satin" playing in the background when it originally aired. On the DVD it was standard mood music. Did I imagine that all those years ago? Help me out.

Missing Song reply
John Q, you definitely did NOT imagine that all those years ago. "Nights in White Satin" was played in the theater, and I remember watching that episode and crying when Sonny killed himself.

I fell in love with that song because of that episode, and to this day, whenever it's on the radio, I always remember Sonny and Vinnie in that theater.

I haven't picked up the series on DVD yet, but I'm sad to hear it's not the same.

More Missing Song Info
Hey John, and to anyone else out there that's wondering why there may be music missing on the dvds that we remember being in the shows... I found this little article that explains it:

Mood music
Cannell said that he was unable to secure the rights for a'reasonable' price

wiseguy the entire 4 seasons
I too, am a devoted fan of the Wiseguy series; i would purchase a complete set if it was the original uncut set. The Wiseguy series is legendary; even yet today I would love to set and watch the whole series over again. If there is a way to "secure the rights for a'reasonable' price", that would make many, many people happy. i would purchase a oringinal set along with many others.

The music was half of it...
I recently looked at a set of Wise Guy season 2, but didn't buy it. I want the original music and the entire series. It was a great series.

Wonderful TV Series
This has to be by far the best television history containing to everyday life of mobsters and wiseguys. Cast is fantastic. I don't have seasons 3 and 4 would like to know where to find them?
#15 - Kathleen Hough - 04/03/2010 - 13:04
Mr. Cannell, are you listening?
I have the first season of Wiseguy and thus found out the hard way that Nights in White Satin had been edited out. It absolutely made the scene (and in many ways, that arc). If Steve Cannell would consider getting those rights and re-issuing the DVDs, I'd buy it again.
You seldom see a single song having that kind of impact, but it did. Just look at all the review(ers) on Amazon.
