This 80's TV show sitcom featured the characters Henry Rush, an illustrator who created the kid's cartoon "Cosmic Cow", his wife Muriel, a photographer and their two daughters Jackie and Sara.
TV Show Plot For Too Close for Comfort
In Too Close For Comfort, Ted Knight plays Henry Rush, a cartoonist famous for his children's character the "Cosmic Cow". He lives in the upstairs portion of a San Fransico duplex with his wife Muriel. Jackie and Sarah Rush are Henry's two grown daughters who live (Too Close For Comfort) in the other half of the duplex.
Sister Sara is the stereotypical pretty blonde ditz. Jackie is the smarter, more mature brunette older sister.
Other characters in the show included: Sara's friend Monroe Ficus (JM J. Bullock), who was always on Henry's nerves; Andrew, the Rush's son born at the beginning of season three; Henry's niece, April (Deena Freeman), who came to live with the Rush family, then left after the second season; Iris Martin, Henry's mother-in-law, played by Audrey Meadows, came to live with the Rushes after Andrew's birth.
129 episodes of Too Close For Comfort aired on ABC from 1980 to 1987. The first two seasons have been released on DVD.
