The setting for this 80's TV show is the luxurious St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco. Famous guest stars would come to the hotel and become involved in romatic plots.

TV Show Plot For Hotel

The TV series Hotel resembled several other 80's Aaron Spelling produced, guest star type shows of the time like Love Boat and Fantasy Island.

The Hotel series characters included: Victoria Cabot, the wealthy woman who watched over the hotel on behalf of her sister-in-law, Laura Trent; Peter McDermott, the smooth, bearded General Manager; Christine his assistant and later love interest; Mark, the likable public-relations person; and Billy Griffin, the hotel's security director; Julie ran the hotel's information center; and a recently married couple Dave and Megan served as the bellhop and desk clerk.

Notable Hotel series guest stars included: Morgan Fairchild, Shirley Jones, Liberace, McLean Stevenson, Peter Marshall and Lynn Redgrave.

ABC broadcast a total of 114 episodes of Hotel between 1983 and 1988.

Didn't Anyone Tape This Series?

Here's the deal. I'm probably one of the few people in the universe to own the entire series, most of which are the original ABC airings. I've also taped them from E! and Lifetime when they were syndicated, just to make sure they were all there. A year ago, I moved and have managed to have two cases of video lost along the way. I'm now holding all but seven episodes and it's driving me absolutely nuts to know that the others aren't here. So, if anyone has the seven I'm missing, preferably taped from SoapNet because they're uncut, I would be delighted to be able to offer the complete series to those of you who want to have it. I'm in the process of dropping what's here to DVD and can't continue without the remaining seven. The video isn't as crystal as it used to be, but it's not exactly hideous either. Guess it's true, Beta (yes I did say Beta) and VHS don't last forever, but 20 plus years wasn't bad...LOL!

Progress Report

Happy New Year everyone!

Thought I'd give you an update on how the search through all of the videotapess is coming. I'm pleased to say that I've found one of missing episodes from Season Two, bringing it down to six remaining. So, on the off chance that any of you have them, the final missing six are as follows:

Season Two - Skeletons - Guest appearance by Dorothy McGuire, Edward Winter, Christopher Norris and others.

Season Three - Heroes - Guest appearance by Pat Harrington, Jr., Michael Moriarty, Melora Hardin and others.

Season Four - Undercurrents - Originally pre-empted by a two-hour "Dynasty" episode, but oddly enough didn't make it into the reruns that year.

Season Four - Shadow Play - Guest appearances by Adrienne Barbeau, John Beck and Robert Guillaume - I KNOW I have this one because I can see it play out in absolute perfection, so if I don't have it, I've got a fabulous memory. LOL!!!

Season Four - Discoveries - Guest appearance by Shirley Jones and Leslie Uggams - This episode was pre-empted by ABC for a special event. It was never shown in reruns, so the only hope would be the episodes shown on either Lifetime or SoapNet.

Season Four - Fast Forward - Guest appearance by William R. Moses, David Wallace and Grant Wilson - This is another that I remember like it was yesterday, so it's probably hiding out on one of the tapes that I've yet to find.

Another Progress Report

I've been through more tapes and still haven't managed to come up with the missing six. I have, however, come up with a possible way of getting them directly from the studio. I'm in the Entertainment Industry and have sent a note over to my contact at Viacom (In case you don't know it already, CBS owns all of Paramount's television programming) requesting licensing information. The series is currently sitting in their distribution bible with options for syndication. It's a longshot, but you can't ever tell. Perhaps I'll manage to convince them to go to DVD! Will keep you updated...

HOTEL - The Official Release

Just got word from Paramount's head of Home Entertainment - Season One of "Hotel" is releasing to DVD on July 21st!!!!!! It will be followed with the remaining four seasons over the course of the next several months. The episodes are their original uncut versions. Amazon.com should have a listing shortly for pre-orders. Will keep you updated on progress!

The entire series isn't out on DVD yet, and to my knowledge, very few people have the uncut episodes at all unless they managed to get the SoapNet recordings from several years ago. Season One was released in July by CBS/Paramount Home Video. Season Two will be out in mid-2010. I'd suggest trying either eBay or Amazon for the DVD sets.

Hola luis,quisiera preguntarte si conoces alguna tienda de confianza que no timen como la que ya conocemos, donde pueda comprar la serie misterio para tres(friday the 13 the series)con subtitulos en castellano,solo la encuentro en ingles sin subtitulos en zona 1,yo confiaba en volver.tv donde decian que la tenian,pero despues de las quejas relacionadas con este sitio...
