The Equal Justice series was created by Thomas Carter. The cast included Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex In The City), Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), Barry Miller (Fame) and character actor Joe Morton.

Other Equal Justice cast characters included: Gene's wife Jesse; Linda Bauer, the head of the Sex Crimes Unit; Linda's brother Peter, a local public defender; Michael James, the office's top prosecutor, and young attorneys JoAnn, Briggs, Julie, and Christopher.
