Series Regular
Hi, everyone, I played the part of Tom in the Dear John series. As far as I am aware there are no plans to release it on DVD. IMDB has not got the right info about the show but they won't change it. They show myself and Judd Hirsch as being in only some of the episodes. Judd and I were in every episode including the pilot. It was a great show to work and it changed my life for the better. It might be worth trying to encourage Paramount to make a release available. If they can't they will know who the owner now is. I do have many videos at YouTube under the name of Featureman. None of the videos are Dear John related. That is copyright protected.

My husband and I LOVED this show!!!!! We would LOVE to buy the entire series on DVD if it were available. We especially wish we had a copy of the episode where
Ralph told the story about his tiny little camper trailer that he loved so much and how one night when he was on the toilet a bunch of drunken bad guys came and turned the trailer upside down. At the end of the show we learn that Kirk was the one who did that to Ralph and ,of course, when it happened they did not know each other. My husband and I have laughed about that so many times over the years. Every time we see a tiny little trailer we call it Ralph's trailer!! Those shows were GREAT!!!! What GREAT characters and story lines!!!

TV Series Dear John with Judd Hirsch
I have been searching for the TV series 1988-1992 Dear John starring Judd Hirsch and haven't had any luck. Does anyone know how to get those shows released to DVD?
I have only found the intro on you-tube.
#10 - Cindy - 03/03/2009 - 08:36
Dear John one of the funniest sitcoms!
I really hope Dear John makes it to DVD. I love the intro song and all of the characters. There's so many crappy sitcoms that were on TV for less time than Dear John and are on DVD...doesn't make sense. I regret not taping Dear John when I was younger.

"Dear John"
Dear John was the most clever comedy on TV. The meshing of diverse personalities and situations never ceased to entertain. The writing was absolutely brilliant. If you had any street savy, you probably caught many more implications than most. Kirk morris was one of the most hillarious characters ever created. His body language and delivery of lines was impecable! The cast as a whole was quite convincing, and you really felt that you knew them personally. If this ever becomes available on dvd, I'll be first in line. If anyone knows how to obtain any episodes, please post it .

PLEASE BRING DEAR JOHN BACK TO US!!!
Apparently, the owners of the Dear John show are reading these posts due to they have contacted the person above, (who was willing to sell the DVDs) about copyright infringement; therefore, I am pleading with the owners to please bring this show back to TV or DVD. You have the demand for the show, so why not distribute the DVD's or put the show in syndication and make some money on it!!!

#26 - Wendy - 08/03/2011 - 19:37
to the owners of the copyright
Either overlook the copyright violation associated with trading this television show among fans, or release a commercial DVD set of the series for sale. To do neither is unethical and only goes to show the lack of consideration that you give to the fans - the same people who pay your (overinflated) pay checks.
#27 - Derek Tombrello - 10/24/2011 - 22:30
Apalling attitude!
If you don't want to listen to fans, who are offering you a chance to make money, the fans will record from TV and make it available:
