TV Show Plot For Cosby Show, The

On the TV show Bill Cosby plays an obstetrician, who lives in New York with his lawyer wife played by Phylicia Rashad and their four children (played by Lisa Bonet, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Tempestt Bledsoe and Keshia Knight-Pulliam).

The show was an immediate ratings success, and finished third in the ratings in it's very first season. The Cosby Show then went on to finish first in the ratings for the next five years, until the sitcom Roseanne took the top spot.

Lisa Bonet left the series after the third season to start a Cosby Show spin-off A Different World, which ran from 1987 to 1993.
