TV Show Plot For Cheers

Cheers was a long-running sitcom produced by Charles-Burrows-Charles Productions in association with Paramount Television for NBC.

The show was set in Cheers bar in Boston, Massachusetts, where a group of locals met to drink and have fun.

Cheers premiered on September 30, 1982, and eventually became a highly rated television show for NBC. Cheers ranked in the top-ten during eight of its eleven seasons. The show earned 26 Emmy Awards, out of a total of 117 nominations.

The Cheers spin-off Frasier began in 1993, and was shot on the same stage at Paramount.

Cheers was nearly cancelled by NBC in its first season when it ranked last in the ratings, but it was saved by NBC's entertainment president Brandon Tartikoff.

The exterior shots of the bar cheers were filmed at "The Bull and Finch Pub" in Boston.
