TV Show Plot For Cagney and Lacey

The Cagney and Lacey crime drama is credited as a groundbreaking show which paved the way for leading roles for women on TV. The show was also hearalded for it's often controversial story plots, particularly those episodes dealing with women's issues such as rape, abortion, and breast cancer.

Most episodes of Cagney and Lacey dealt with the recurring problems of the two women in the male dominated criminal justice profession. Each episode also featured crimes which were related to some topical social problems.

Cagney and Lacey creators Barbara Avedon and Barbara Corday took seven years, from 1974 to 1981, to get the original made-for-TV movie to television. The movie was highly rated and eventually led to the series in 1982.

The Cagney & Lacey series aired a total of 125 episodes on CBS from 1982-88.

This show is one of my favorite police stories... They are both tough cops. I just enjoyed watching every single one of them and cant wait for the 27 seasons on dvd to come out...Including the CHiPs are one of my another favorite cops s
