The 80's TV show AfterMASH was a sitcom spin-off of the smash hit TV series M*A*S*H. Col. Potter, bored in retirement, returns to work as chief of staff at General Pershing Veteran's Hospital. Klinger is in trouble with the law and contacts Potter about getting a job. Father Mulcahy, also joins Potter and Klinger at the veteran's hospital as the chaplain.

The main characters of the series After MASH were: Colonel Sherman Potter (Harry Morgan), Max Klinger (Jamie Farr) and Father Francis Mulcahy (William Christopher).

CBS aired thirty episodes of the TV series After M*A*S*H, before it was cancelled mid-way through the second season.

After the incredible success of the long-running series MASH, I guess someone had to try a spin-off or continuation. But, did anyone actually see this show?

Just happened on this site while surfing for MASH and AfterMASH again. Actually, I thought AfterMASH was pretty good! I was a fan of MASH through the whole series and followed it over to wherever it went. I remember I was rather ticked that AfterMASH was cancelled. I have been looking for any version - DVD or VHS - since then. Anyone heard of any?

I'm only 15, and mash is my favorite show. The impact the show had on me and probably countless others is just indescribable. It has the perfect mix of humor and drama(which is the reason it didn't win any awards). I never knew there was a spin-off until I started researching the 80's for school. If they're as good as M*A*S*H* then I would like to see them all.

My parents raised me on a healthy diet of MASH episodes, buying me the Martinis and Medicine Collection for my last birthday, along with each of the MASH action figures. I found out about After MASH, Trapper John, MD, and WALTER a few years ago, and although Trapper John's show is still aired in reruns, the other two (counting WALTER as a show even though it only had one episode) are impossible to locate. They really should have a complete MASH lover's edition where they box together every episode of the four shows. Anyone know where to find them? I don't care if it's VHS or DVD.

After Mash was a great show with exceptional ratings in its first season. The reason it was canceled mid way through its second season was that CBS moved it out of its Monday night time slot, where MASH had been for so many years and where After Mash had been through its first season, into a new time slot against the "A Team." Its ratings dropped and CBS dropped the show. I have most of the first season shows on old Betamax tape, which still look great by the way, and am in the process of transferring them to DVD. If anyone is interested in copies, let me know.

Big MASH Fan

As a kid I watched MASH religiously especially when it hit reruns in the 80's. In the last few months I've had the pleasure of watching all those episodes over again on HistoryTV and after 20 years I can say it's now a highlight during the weekday. I still remember the pain of watching the final episode finish was almost like saying goodbye to an old friend. Then our fall TVGuide would come in the mail. My sister and I would comb the oversized Mag and I saw the new series Aftermash. (I was too young to realize it was a play on the word AFTERMATH.) I watched a good portion of the episodes, but I missed so many of the other cast like Hawkeye (may fav), BJ, Hot Lips, and Charles that it was only a shell of it's parent. I don't remember it well, but I do know it was more on the serious side. Maybe someday it'll be available online in a huge collection for watching all over again.

I have both seasons including the unaired episode. I also have W*A*L*T*E*R the only episode that was ever made. they are not dvd quality but I am willing to share them. I can burn them to DVD for the cost of the disc and postage.

Get After MASH Here!

If you download and install the VUZE P2P software, you can download the whole series.

The picture quality is not the best, as it was copied from old VHS tapes, recorded from CBS back when the show aired. But you will at least be able to watch the show and enjoy it.

There is also the one and only episode of "Walter" with it.

Get After MASH here!

Forgot to mention: The video is AVI(Divx), and so you will need to download the free DivX Codec online to play it.

It will play in "Windows Media Player", or any DVD software on a PC once you install the DivX Codec!

If you want to put it on a real DVD, then you will need to download a video converter to get it from DivX, to MPEG2.

There are free versions out there that work wonders.

I love MASH. I was unaware of the spin off After MASH also and WALTER and TRAPPER. My Dad is 84 and was in the Korean War himself and he loves to watch MASH. I'm a big mash fan. And I am looking for all episodes of after mash. I've heard it was 28, 30, and 32 episodes, and I don't know which is right. But which ever is right , that's the one I'm looking for. I bought one copy, taking a chance. And the quality is vary,vary bad with commercials in it as well. I am willing to take another chance and hope the quality is better than the last.
