Rita Moreno plays Violet, Valerie Curtin plays the shy Judy (taking over the Jane Fonda movie role) and Rachel Dennison plays Doralee (taking over the role her sister Dolly Parton played in the 9 to 5 movie.)

The first season of Nine to Five was a six-episode trial series in the spring of 1982. When it returned to TV later in the fall of 1982, Peter Bonerz had replaced Tambor as Mr. Hart. Jean Marsh played the role of the office manager.

80's Movie and TV Show
This is another example of a great 80's movie gone horribly wrong as a TV show.>-( They even tried to use Dolly Parton's sister in the role Dolly played in the movie! This one died a slow death over three painful seasons.

Fred Applegate played E. Nelson Felb (1987-1988. He had the line " I lie, I like to lie, I lie alot, and I mean that!" One of my favorite lines of all time. I was may be 8 years old when i heard it and it has stayed with me all my life.

Looking for E. Nelson Felb
If anyone has any episodes with E. Nelson Felb, I'd like to get a copy. This was one of my favorite characters of all time. The line quoted above is classic. He made no excuses, he was just a miserable person. LOL

Please email me at bajobear@gmail.com

Thanks

The original movie was very sitcom-like, so it's hardly a travesty it was turned into an actual sitcom. I don't remember the original early 80s run with Rita Moreno, but I do remember its successful first-run syndication '86-'88 with Sally Struthers. At the very least it succeeded as a guilty-pleasure, which is all a good sitcom needs to do.
