She's come a long way...

Danica Patrick, born in 1982, has come a long way for herself. She was 1st woman to win Indy car race series not to mention modeling and acting. Anyone seen her show on motodanica.com. It's a comedy called, "At home with Danica Patrick". It's cute and funny, looks like she had fun making it. Smiley

The author asks the important question of where the first female president will come from, what her background and political experience will be, what her family will consist of. In trying to answer these questions, she compares the backgrounds of Clinton and Palin. Sanchez also looks at how their campaigns were run, and how that impacted the female vote for each candidate (as well as other demographics).

I was most surprised to learn that some of the most insulting or vocal coverage of the female candidates came from *other* females. Sanchez considers the "Mean Girls" factor, and believes that one of the most important lessons all women need to learn is how to fend for themselves in a world where social bullying is a huge problem. It's an interesting proposition, and one I wouldn't have thought of without reading this book.

Yeah, that's how it is in my family too. My mom actually works longer hours than my dad but gets paid less (she's a teacher, he's a fire inspector) and when he gets home around 5, he plops his butt on the couch and watches TV. When my mom gets hom around 7 or 8, she's cleaning up, dealing with my brother's homework, dealing with her work, etc...On the weekends, my dad will mow the lawn and wash his car and stuff, but it's still my mom who cooks and cleans and does my dad's laundry. She taught my brother and I how to wash our own clothes so hopefully my brother won't be one of those lazy dads.
