Bad Luck For Two 80's Band Tours
« on: Jul 17, 2006, 10:17 AM »

The New Cars and Blondie are on the "Road Rage Tour" together this summer. Elliot Easton, founding member and guitarist for the New Cars, needed surgery for a broken left clavicle sustained during a near-crash when the group's tour bus swerved to avoid a vehicle on June 5. Easton played four more shows with the injury, but finally had to give up and cancel the June 25 appearance at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.

More bad luck on the Journey - Def Leppard summer tour. Journey will have a new lead singer as singer Steve Augeri recovers from a throat infection. Jeff Scott Soto, who has performed with Journey guitarist Neal Schon, will step in for Augeri. Augeri's doctor will monitor his condition to determine when he may be able to rejoin the tour.

Great, the Cars without Rick Ocasek and Journey without Steve Perry tours. These are more like tribute bands! Has anyone seen any of these shows?

The reviews seem pretty luke warm to the Blondie-New Cars shows. Here's one review-

There have been many lineup changes in both bands.

I'd still like to see Def Leppard.

Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

People love the 80's. There needs to be more bands like the 80's bands. Bands today that try to do a modernized 80's sound, are awesome. Check out some of these new 80's bands. 80's is still huge, thats why when bands like Motley Crue, Aerosmith, GNR tour, they sell out big.
