Summary

This 80ís movie portrays the social changes that occurred in America in the 1940ís, when men marched to the war and women had to go to the factories.

Plot

Swing Shift begins with a typical American couple, Kay Walsh and Mike Lockhart, who are deeply in love and want to spend their lives together. After the attack to Pearl Harbor, however, Mike feels that it is his duty to enroll to the armed forces.

Meanwhile, and without his approval, his wife finds a job at a local plant in order to help the war effort. However, things get complicated in Swing Shift when Kay begins dating another man.
