Movie Plot For River, TheTom Garvey (played by Mel Gibson) and his wife Mae (played by Sissy Spacek) are having the battle of their lives which include trying to hold on to their farm in the movie The River.
To make matters worst, their lives take a downward spiral as they have to battle with storms and holding on to their farm so that it would not get repossessed. They may not have much money, but they’ve got each other’s love, which is holding them together in the movie The River.
