Plot

Full Metal Jacket is a two-part movie, one featuring the rigorous training that members of the Marine must endure before going out to war. It does not help that they have to be trained by a man who drives an iron fist in the name of Gny. Sgt. Hartman, played by R. Lee Ermey.

The second half of Full Metal Jacket follows the story of Pvt. Joker, who has survived basic training from part one. Pvt. Joker is no ordinary Marine, he thinks only of killing as the movie allows the viewer to get inside of his sadistic head.

Trivia

R Lee Emery, a former US Marine drill instructor was hired for the movie Full Metal Jacket to give advice on the boot camp training portion of the movie. But producers were so impressed by the way he did his job and kept it real-like, that he was hired to play Gunnery Sgt. Hartman.

Anthony Michael Hall was supposed to be the actor to play Pvt. Joker in the movie Full Metal Jacket but he was against the way the director was doing his job.
