Plot

France is the backdrop for Dangerous Liaisons, where The Marquise de Merteuil (played by Glenn Close) is trying to convince her ex-lover Vicomte de Valmont (played by John Malcovich) that her other ex- lover Gercourta’s bride-to-be (played by Uma Thurman) is not the right woman for him.

In Dangerous Liaisons, Marquise de Mertuil uses Vicomte de Valmont to prove that Volanges is not as faithful as everyone think she is and puts her plan in motion for Valmont to seduce the bride to be. Little does The Marquise de Merteuil know that Vicomte de Valmont has his own agenda: another woman by the name of Madame de Tourvel (played by Michelle Pfeiffer). Valmonta’s own quest to court Madame de Tourvel could land him in trouble with the jealous Marquise de Merteiul.
