Plot

The movie The Bostonians is set in the final years of the 19th century, just after the Civil War. Basil Ransom, a veteran from the war and a lawyer from Mississippi, decides to visit his cousin, Olive Chancellor, who lives in Boston.

Olive takes her cousin to a feminist rally. There, Ransom will fall in love with one of the speakers, Verena Tarrant. As the film The Bostonians evolves, they will start to deal with their feelings. However, destiny may interpose between them.
