Willie NelsonLyrics Always On My Mind

Willie Nelson and his sister Bobbie were raised by their grandparents after their mother and father split up. Starting at the age of six, Nelson’s grandparents gave him mail order music lessons. He played the guitar, while his sister learned the piano. When Nelson was still in high school, he and his sister joined fiddler Bud Fletcher’s band, the Bohemian Fiddlers.

Eventually, Nelson relocated to Tennessee, where he had a tough time scoring a record deal. He finally managed to score a publishing contract at Pamper Music. His song “Night Life” was recorded by Ray Price, effectively launching Nelson’s career. Nelson joined Price’s touring band. During this period, many of the songs Nelson wrote became major hits for other artists, including “Crazy.”

The albums of Willie Nelson include Shotgun Willie, Yesterday’s Wine, Troublemaker, Phases and Stages, Red Headed Stranger, Sound In Your Mind, Wanted: The Outlaws, To Lefty From Willie, Stardust, Six Pak Volume 1, Face of a Fighter, Willie and Family Live, Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Greatest Hits (& Some That Will Be), The Winning Hand, Always On My Mind, Pancho & Lefty, City of New Orleans, Half Nelson, Music From Songwriter, Promised Land, Horse Called Music, The IRS Tapes: Who’ll Buy My Memories?, and The Great American Songbook.
