Thomas DolbyLyrics She Blinded Me With Science

While Dolby was born in London, he spent much of his youth in Mediterranean Europe such as Greece, France, and Italy, as his father was a professor of classical Greek archaeology.

Dolby takes his nick name from Dolby Laboratories. Friends supposedly gave him the nick name when they became impressed with his sonic tinkering in the studio. Dolby Laboratories eventually sued Dolby in an effort to stop him from using the name. The case was eventually settled out of court, allowing Dolby to use the name strictly in conjunction with his first name, Thomas.

The albums of Thomas Dolby include The Golden Age of Wireless, The Flat Earth, Aliens Ate My Buick, Astronauts & Heretics, The Gate to the Mind’s Eye, Retrospectacle: The Best of Thomas Dolby, 12 x 12: Original Remixes, Forty: Live Limited Edition, The Sole Inhabitant, Blinded by Science, May the Cube Be With You, Hot Sauce / Salsa Picante, and One of Our Submarines. Dolby also has tracks on the motion picture soundtracks for Howard the Duck, Music from the Film ‘Gothic,’ and The Dark Eye.
