The Outfield Artist Bio and Lyrics
The Ď80s rock band the Outfield are based in London, England. They started out in the middle of the decade; by 1985, they had released their first record, Play Deep. It eventually went triple platinum in the United States. While the Outland always did well commercially in the United States, they never managed to chart in the United Kingdom. Despite this, the Outfield continued to record throughout the early 1990s before going on a brief hiatus. In the year 1998, they began touring once again and released two live albums. In the year 2006, the Outfield released a new album called Any Time Now.
The Outfield was formed in the East End of London. They were originally called the Baseball Boys. The bandís original line up consisted of Tony Lewis on bass and vocals, John Spinks on guitars and keyboards, and Alan Jackman on drums. The band gigged around London and recorded some demo tapes. Eventually, in the year 1984, the band was signed to the Columbia Records label.
The bandís debut album featured the hit single ďYour Love,Ē which made it to the Top Ten in the United States. The Outfield then embarked on a world tour, opening for the likes of Journey and Starship. The bandís current line up consists of Lewis and Spinks.
The albums of the Outfield include Play Deep, Banginí, Voices of Baby, Diamond Days, Rockeye, Playing the Field, Big Innings: The Best of the Outfield, It Ainít Over, Extra Innings, Live in Brazil, The Outfield Live, and 2006ís Any Time Now.
