Pat Benatar Artist Bio and Lyrics
Pat Benetar, perhaps one of the best female rock vocalists of the 80s, was born in Lindenhurst, New York. In 1971, when she was just 19 years old, she married her high school love Dennis T. Benatar. It is here that she acquires the name she would make famous. The couple moved to Virgina, where they lived for 4 years. In 1975 they divorced in 1975 shortly after moving back to New York.
Starting at a young age Pat Benatar studied opera, following the lead of her mother. After her divorce, Benatar began a much heavier pursuit of her singing career. In 1997 she found her big break at a New York comedy club. Catch a Rising Sun comedy club was hosting an amateur singing contest where she found her first success
Although her first several shows yielded few promises, one night she decided to try out an old Halloween costume she had lying around. She later recalled the audience’s abnormally loud reaction to the new persona. And following that performance, Pat Benatar was signed by Terry Ellis the founder of Chrysalis Records.
Throughout her career, Pat Benatar produced a ton top ten albums and singles. Songs such as “Heartbreaker”, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, and “Hell is For Children.” She achieved four "Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female" Grammy’s in a row between 1980 and 1983 and will be joining the ranks of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

WOW!!!! I love her work. I enjoy a lot of her songs. She is like an upgraded Joan Jett. She's beautiful and talented. Even after all those years, she still rocks. GO MRS. Benatar!!!!!!!!!!

It's clear this page has not been updated in quite some time. I belive this to be an error,
"In 1997 she found her big break..." It is impossible for her to have found
"...her first success" when she was already well known. Please fix this to have it make sense.
BTW, I agree, she is awesome from her style to her choices in the songs she sings.
