Born in Santa Monica, California, many of Karla Bonoff’s songs have been recorded by other artists, including "Home" by Bonnie Raitt, "Tell Me Why" by Wynonna Judd, and "Someone To Lay Down Beside Me," "Trouble Again," "All My Life" and "Goodbye My Friend," which were all done by Linda Ronstadt.

Karla Bonoff sang background vocals for Linda Ronstadt and Wendy Waldman before releasing her eponymous debut album in the year 1977. Karla Bonoff’s other albums include Restless Nights, Wild Heart of the Young, New World, and All My Life (a best of collection). Karla Bonoff is best known as a renowned composer, but she is also noted for her hit song “Personally,” which was released in the year 1982.

Karla Bonoff is also a member of the band Bryndle, which includes Wendy Waldman and Kenny Edwards, and originally included Andrew Gold. The band has released three full length albums so far.
