As a musical artist, Julian Lennon has had a rather inconsistent career. He first became popular in the year 1984 with the single “Too Late For Goodbyes,” which featured on his album Valotte. In the late 1990s, his career experienced a resurgence. In between those years, Julian Lennon reportedly had a substance abuse problem that eventually led him to walk away from the music industry for a number of years. Valotte was produced by Phil Ramone, who was also renowned for producing albums for such artists as Billy Joel. In addition to “Too Late For Goodbyes,” the album also boasted the hit “Valotte,” leading Julian Lennon to be nominated for a Grammy Award in the year 1985. The album was promoted with music videos by legendary director Sam Peckinpah. Lennon would later be the subject of Peckinpah’s film Stand By Me: A Portrait of Julian Lennon. Other famous Julian Lennon songs include a cover of “Because.” Julian Lennon currently resides in Majorca, where he owns a restaurant.
