John Winston Lennon, born October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England, supposedly during a minor German air raid. Neither of his parents persued their music careers, but both had musical backgrounds. His mother recieved serious pressures from her sister and child protective services to had over the care of young John Lennon to her sister.

Lennon became very close with his new parent figures. His aunt "Mimi" and uncle George became like a mother and father. George taught John how to paint and draw and buying him a mouth organ, which would be his first instrument.

The death of George would have an extreme effect on John. However, the events that would proceed after his death would hurt just as much. On July 15, when John Lennon was 17 his mother was hit by a drunk driver and killed while leaveing aunt Mimi's house.

After attending art school in England, and finding extreme success in the Beatles, John Lennon decided he would pursue a solo career. He would start out producing a series of experimental music that wouldn't produce a seriously popular hit. However he developed to write more popular songs with an anti-war attitude.

During the night of December 8, 1980, at 10:50 p.m. a shot rang out to radically change thousands of lives. Mark David Chapman shot and killed John Lennon outside his home. John and Yoko Ono had just returned home from finding out the upcoming sucess of their recent album.
