Joe Walsh Artist Bio and LyricsBorn Joseph Fidler Walsh on the 20th of November 1947 in Wichita, Kansas, Joe Walsh is a renowned American 80's music artist. He was in two successful bands, the James Gang and the Eagles, and also had a successful career as a solo artist.
As a child, Walsh moved with his family to New York City, then to Montclair, New Jersey, where he would attend Montclair High School. He attended Kent State University, and would play in several bands in Cleveland, Ohio during this period. Then, in 1969, he would become the lead guitarist for a power trio called the James Gang. He became the band’s main attraction with his innovative guitar stylings. In 1971, Walsh left the band in order to launch a solo career. His debut album, Barnstorm, came out in 1972. Although it was well received among critics, it did not sell as well as it was expected to. His first commercial success came with the follow up album, The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get. In 1976, Walsh joined the famous band the Eagles.
