Icehouse Artist Bio and LyricsIcehouse is an Australian band known as pioneers of the synthpop age in the 1980s. They released their first album, titled Icehouse under the name The Flowers in 1980.
The debut album from Icehouse, climbed up to number 4 in Australia. The album contained hits such as “Walls,” “Can’t Help Myself,” and “We Can Get Together.” Icehouse released their next album, Primitive Man in 1982. The album climbed to number three in Australia and 64 in the UK. They followed up with two moderately successful albums, Sidewalk, and Measure for Measure. Both of those albums charted at number 8 in Australia. It was Icehouse’s fifth album, in 1987, that was their real claim to fame. Man of Colours was a number one album in Australia and New Zealand; the album also came to the charts at number 38 in the UK and 48 in the US. Icehouse continued releasing albums; their 1980s finale was Great Southern Land in 1989, which climbed to number 2 in Australia. Their most recent release was Bi-Polar Poems in 2006. |
