The Human League was a synthpop band formed in England in 1977. The bulk of their success came in the 1980s, but they enjoyed a brief comeback in the 1990s.

The Human League’s first album of the 1980s was Travelogue. The album achieved number 24 chart position in the UK. It was the last album for two of the founding members.

In 1981, The Human League found their main success. That year they released Dare! The album charted number one in the UK and number 3 in the US. Dare let loose on the world three major singles, “The Sound of the Crowd,” “Love Action,” and “Open Your Heart.”

In 1982 and 1983, The Human League released a few decent EPs and then in 1984, they released their next album, Hysteria. The album rose to number 3 in the UK and the single “Lebanon,” was the only single to chart in the US.

The Human League’s final album of the 1980s was the 1986 album, Crash. The album climbed to number 7 in the UK and number 24 in the US. The single “Human,” became the bands second, and final number one hit.
