Huey Lewis and the News Artist Bio and LyricsHuey Lewis and the News is an acclaimed American rock band. The band was formed in the early 1970s and continued releasing albums into the 1990s.
Huey Lewis and the News’ self-titled debut album wasn’t a great success. Their follow-up however, climbed to number 13. Picture This was released in 1982. One of the albums most memorable singles was “Do You Believe in Love?” which climbed to number 7. The next album from Huey Lewis and the News was Sports in 1983, it was their first number one album. “Heart and Soul,” was a number one Mainstream Rock single. Other singles from the album were, “I Want a New Drug,” “If This Is It,” “Walking on a Thin Line,” and “The Heart of Rock N’ Roll.” In 1985, Huey Lewis and the News performed on one of their most famous albums, the Back To The Future Soundtrack. The soundtrack included one of the band’s most famous songs, “The Power of Love.” Huey Lewis and the News weren’t done with number one albums, in 1986 they released Fore! The album went to number one, and included two number one Hot 100 tracks; “Stuck With You,” and “Jacobs Ladder.” The last Huey Lewis and the News album was in 1988 when the band released, Small World. The album climbed to number 11. |
