During the 1980s, George Harrison released three studio albums. The first of which was Somewhere in England. The album climbed to number 13 in the UK and number 11 in the US. When the album was submitted to Warner Brothers Records in 1981, the record company ordered he remove four of the songs, “Tears of the World,” “Sat Singing,” “Lay His Head,” and “Flying Hour.”

The next album from George Harrison was Gone Troppo in 1982. This album was not a very big success, only reaching number 101 in the US. This lack of success was caused in part by Harrison’s disgust with the condition of the music industry and his nearing the end of his contract.

George Harrison managed to recover somewhat from his 1982 album when he released Cloud Nine in 1987. The album climbed up to number ten in the UK and number 8 in the US. He produced the album in his own studio with the help of former ELO Leader Jeff Lynne.
