The Swedish 80's musical artist Frida was born Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad on the 15th of November 1945. Frida is a renowned singer, perhaps best known for her work as a member of the pop group ABBA. She is of Norwegian and German descent.

Lyrics I Know There's Something Going On

In the English speaking world, Frida’s solo career was launched in the year 1982 as ABBA was in the process of disbanding. Phil Collins produced her debut album, Something’s Going On, which made it to the top of the charts in Sweden and also did well in the United Kingdom and the United States. The album boasted the well known single “I Know There’s Something Going On,” which made it on to the Top Ten charts around the world.

In the United States, it made it to the 13th position on the charts. In France, it made it to the Number One position, while in Australia, it finished at Number Five. The song’s music video received heavy rotation on MTV. The following year, Lygstand would be busy assisting on the musical Abbacadabra – The Musical.

Frida’s next solo album, Shine, was released in the year 1984. It was moderately successful, making it on to the Top Twenty in several European countries. In the years that followed, Frida busied herself with environmental activism. She has released several one off recordings since then.
