Elton John was born on March 25 1947 in Middlesex, London. His career spanned across five decades, starting in the late 1960s.
Elton John’s first album of the 1980s was, 21 at 33. The album was certified Gold in the US and peaked at number 13 in the US and 12 in the UK. The album released two singles, “Little Jeannie,” and Sartorial Eloquence.” Almost exactly a year later, Elton John released The Fox. The album included, “Nobody Wins,” and “Chloe.” Elton John released his next album in 1982 when he released, Jump Up! The album achieved Gold certification in the US and Silver in the UK. This album included singles such as, “Blue Eyes,” “Empty Garden,” and “Princess.” Elton John released Too Low For Zero in 1983. The album went Gold in the US and Platinum in the UK. In 1984, Elton John released Breaking Hearts. Breaking Hearts peaked at number 2 in the UK and number 20 in the US. Both countries certified the album Gold. His next album was Ice on Fire, in 1985. The album received Platinum certification in the UK, where it peaked at number 3. Elton John’s next two albums were slightly less successful. Leather Jackets was released on 1986. The album was not well-received in the US, but in the UK it climbed to number 24. In 1988 Elton John released Reg Strikes Back. The album was a number 16 album in the US and 18 in the UK. Elton John’s last album of the 1980s was Sleeping with the Past in 1989. The album spent five weeks at number one in the UK and peaked at number 23 in the US. The album received triple Platinum sales in the UK and Platinum in the US. |
