The first album from Electric Light Orchestra was Xanadu. The album reached number 2 in the UK and number 4 in the US. The single, Magic,” stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks. The title track, “Xanadu,” was ELO’s only number one hit in the UK.

In 1981, Electric Light Orchestra released, Time. The album was a number one album in the UK, number 3 in Australia, and number 16 in the US.

Electric Light Orchestra’s next album came in 1983 with, Secret Messages. The album charted number 4 in the UK, number 19 in Australia and 36 in the US. From the album, ELO released several singles such as: “Secret Messages,” Four Little Diamonds,” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll is King.”

After releasing Balance of Power in 1986, the band faced a decline. In was their last album and rested at number 9 in the UK and 49 in the US and Australia. The album contained the single, “Calling America,” which ended its climb at number 18.
