Dionne Warwick was born on December 12, 1940 in East Orange, New Jersey. She started out singing gospel with her family, and grew to a successful career by the 1960s.

Dionne Warwick released her first album in the 1980s in 1980, when she released No Night So Long. She released this album soon after changing to Artista Records. The album’s title track climbed up to number 26 in the US.

In 1982, Dionne Warwick released two albums, Friends in Love, and Heartbreaker. The single, “Heartbreaker,” was a number 10 single.

Dionne Warwick had her most success in 1985 that year she released, Friends, and Finder of Lost Loves. In 1985 she had one major number one single, “That’s What Friends Are For.” It was a number one single on multiple US charts and in Canada.

Dionne Warwick is still releasing albums, her latest being in 2006, My Friends and Me.
