Devo Artist Bio and Lyrics
Devo was formed in 1972 in Akron, Ohio. They are most commonly associated with the New Wave style of music that swept the 1980s.
Devo’s first album of the 1980s was Freedom of Choice. This album bore their most famous single, “Whip It,” which was only a number 8 single. That same year they released, New Traditionalists. That album contained the moderately successful single, “Workin in the Coal Mine.”
In 1982, Devo released Oh, No! It’s Devo. The video for the single, “That’s Good,” was considered to risqué for MTV and received little or no airplay. The first show of the resulting tour was broadcasted to college campuses in 3-D.
The next two albums of Devo’s were generally unsuccessful. The first, in 1984 was Shout. The album featured the track, “Are You Experienced,” which was a Jimi Hendrix cover.
The final Devo album of the 1980s was in 1989 with Total Devo. The album brought in minimal commercial appeal and was mostly unsuccessful.

A sister's view
Hi, I am the younger sister of Bob & Jerry Casale. Growing up with them was always interesting. Mom played music all the time, since I can remember. I have followed my brothers band ever since their development stages. They never cease to amaze me with their intellect and advanced creativity. I love them both; they are opposites; I have always enjoyed listening to them and just being around them. Unfortunatley they live in LA; me in Cincinnati.

question for the serious fan
I was wondering if DEVO played at U of D high School at one time back in the very early 80's or possible earlier. I graduated from there and i know one of the 80's bands played in the gym there but i can not remember which one.
