Delbert McClinton Artist Bio and LyricsDelbert McClinton was born on November 4, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas. He began his carrer playing in bars, and opening for blues legends such as Jimmy Reed, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Sonny Boy Williamson II and Howlin’ Wolf.
Delbert McClinton released his first album of the 1980s in 1980 when he released, The Jealous Kind. The album included songs by Larry Henley, and Van Morrison. In the end, the album charted at number 34. The next album from Delbert McClinton in the 1980s was in 1981. Plain From the Heart was a considerable commercial let down for McClinton as it only climbed to number 181. The lack of success prompted a vacation for most of the remaining decade. Delbert McClinton returned from his break and released Honky Tonkin’ in 1987. This album also met a similarly unsuccessful fate. He re-released the album in 1989 and also released a live album titled, Live From Austin. |
