Deborah Gibson released her debut album in 1987. The album was titled Out Of the Blue, and rose to number 7 in the Billboard Top 200. The album contained singles such as, “Only in my Dreams,” which climbed to number four in the US and number 11 in the UK. “Shake Your Love,” also made it to number four in the US.

The album, Out of the Blue also gave Deborah Gibson her first number one hit. The title track rose to number three. The next single, “Foolish Beat,” was able to make it to number one.

The last album by Deborah Gibson in the 1980s was in 1989 when she released, Electric Youth. The album stayed at number one for five weeks. It contained one number one single, “Lost in Your Eyes.” The album also bore two more tope 20 singles, “Electric Youth,” which rested at number 11 and, “No More Rhyme,” which made it to number 17.

Deborah Gibson released several more albums in the 1990s, but none of them rivaled her 1980s success. She has since made appearances on TV and formed her own label.
