Daryl Hall was born on October 11, 1946 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He is most known for his half in the duo, Hall and Oats. Aside from Hall and Oats, Daryl released several solo albums in the 1980s and 1990s.

Daryl Hall released his first solo album in 1980 with, Sacred Songs. The album was pushed by RCA producer, Robert Fripp. The label delayed its release until 1980 because they were concerned as to the commercial appeal of the album, which was recorded in 1977.

Daryl Hall appeared on the 1985 album, We Are the World. The album helped fundraising and was a number one album in the US and the UK. Most of the album was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

Daryl Hall’s final solo album of the 1980s came in 1986 when he released, Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine. The album included hits such as, “Foolish Pride,” and number 5 single, “Dreamtime.”
