Charlie Dore was born in Middlesex, England in 1956. During her career she made a brief appearance on the show Rainbow and formed a country band which was signed by Island Records.

Charlie Dore was also signed by her bands label, Island Records. In 1980 she released her debut album, Where to Now. This album contained her most famous and memorable single, “Pilot of the Airwaves.” The single climbed to number 11 in the US.

Upon releasing her second album, Charlie Dore toured Australia and Japan. The album, Listen, was not quite as successful in the US.

During her off time in music, Charlie Dore appeared in many plays and productions in England. She released another album in 1995 which was quite successful in the UK.
