Cars Artist Bio and Lyrics
The Cars were a New Wave band the flared up out of the early American punk scene. From Boston, Massachusetts, they were signed top Elektra Records in 1977.
The first album by the Cars in 1980 was Panorama. The album made good sales and rose to number five in the US, however the singles were not as strong. The album was certified Platinum, but the only charting single was “Touch And Go,” which only charted number 37.
The Cars’ next album was Shake It Up in 1981. The album also climbed into the top ten, resting at number nine. There were several successful singles on this album. The first, “Shake It Up,” climbed to number four in Billboard Pop, and in 1982 rose to number 2 in Billboard Rock. The album also included singles such as, “Cruiser,” “Since Your Gone,” “Think it Over,” and “Victim of Love.”
The Cars released Heartbreak City in 1984, the album rose to number 3. It also achieved at spot at number 25 in the UK. The most famous single from this album was “Drive,” it was a number one adult contemporary and number 3 top 100 and number nine mainstream rock track. The single, “You Might Think,” also rose to number seven in the Hot 100. In 2001 the album was certified four times Platinum.
In 1985 the Cars released a Greatest Hits album which charted number 12, and in 1987 the released their final album of the 1980s, Door to Door. The album contained the single, “You Are The Girl,” which rested at number two in the mainstream rock category.

Correction on Cars bio
The first album by the Cars was called "The Cars" and was released in 1978. The second album by The Cars was "Candy-O" released in 1979. "Panorama" was their third album. That should set the record straight!!
