Cameo Artist Bio and LyricsCameo was formed in 1974 in New York City. They started out with a deep funk driven sound. Early in their career they released such hits as “Find My Way,” which would be included in the soundtrack to the movie, Thank God It’s Friday.
Starting in the 1980s, Cameo’s sound began to evolve. Their release of Cameosis in 1980 and Knights of the Sound Table in 1981 started to reveal their eclectic style. Their album in 1983, Style was the first to exhibit the bands new, ‘electronic funk’ style. Their album, She’s Strange rose to number 27 on the Billboard top 2090 and number one on the US R&B charts. In 1986 one of Cameos major releases came out, “Word Up!” The single became the best pop single of the year and pushed the band to heavy stardom. They followed with singles such as “Back and Forth,” and “Candy.” The success of Word Up! Overexposed Cameo and they were unable to produce another commercially successful album. The song “Word Up!” would be covered by metal band Korn in 2004 as well as many other band around the world. It would appear on multiple soundtracks such as, Austin Powers: Spy Who Shagged Me. |

The title your heard 'a Good-Bye' is indeed a song performed by Cameo in the early Eighties,its from the Album Single Life,it came out in 1985 ... Its a great album,it containes the Funky tune Single Life,Attack me wu.love and Urban Warrior,....
