Blondie Artist Bio and LyricsThe 80's band Blondie formed in the summer of 1974 when guitarist Chris Stein met Deborah Harry. They were later joined by drummer Clem Burke, keyboard player Jimmy Destri and bass player Gary Valentine. Blondie got their first record deal with Private Stock Records in the mid 70s, and released their debut album Blondie in 1976. Blondie's first #1 hit, "Heart of Glass" was so disco, the label was reluctant to release it. A defining moment for the band Blondie was their #1 hit, five and half minute 1980 track, "Rapture," which introduced the then underground hip-hop genre to a larger audience. Blondie broke up in 1982 and Debbie Harry concentrated on her solo recording career and acted sporadically in film. In 1999, the band reformed, without Harrison and Infante, and in the U.K., achieved a number 1 single, "Maria", and a number 3 album, No Exit. In 2006 the band Blondie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame having been the influence for many future musicians. |
Random 80's Artist El DeBarge -The DeBarge family group was founded in the year 1978. Shortly afterwards, they were discovered by Jermaine Jackson. That group, and the group of El’s older brothers, Switch, were then signed to the Motown label. While Switch would attain some success in the late 1970s, it was not until the early 1980s that DeBarge began making waves.... |

That was a rrreeally cool song from high school. It was before MTV (at least for most people) and wow! what a voice, it\\\'s not an alto, its like a low tenor. I wonder if Debbie was really a man?

Yeah Blondie are definately the best band ever....listen to all of their 70s and only great 80s album Autoamerican album(s) and you will be hooked on them, believe me :))
