Billy Squier Artist Bio and LyricsBilly Squier was born on May 12, 1950, in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. He first appeared in the 1970s with his band the Sidewinders, but also found success in a solo career. Billy Squier released his first album of the 1980s in 1980, Tale of the Tape. It was not very successful on the charts, only charting 169 in the US. His next album, in 1981, Don’t Say No, was much more successful. The album charted at number five and held his biggest single to date, “The Stroke” which finished at number 17. That same year he released the single, “In the Dark” which ended at number 35. In 1982 Billy Squier released his last top ten album, Emotions in Motion. The album also ended up number five in the US. In 1982 he released singles like, “Everybody Wants You,” and “Emotions in Motion.” The next Billy Squier album, Signs of Life ended up at number 11. The album was relesased in 1984 and bore singles such as; “Rock me Tonight,” “All Night Long,” and “Eyes on You.” Billy Squier’s final two albums in the 1980s were not as successful. In 1986 he released Enough is Enough. The album charted number 61 and only released one single, “Love is the Hero,” which was a number 80 single. The next album in 1989, Hear & Now, finished three places lower than Enough is Enough. “Don’t Say You Love Me,” was his last single finishing at number 58. |
