Asia Artist Bio and LyricsThe 80's band Asia began as a result of the breakup of the 70's bands Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. In 1981, bassist John Wetton and Yes guitarist Steve Howe were brought together by Geffen Records to start working on a new project. After working together a short time, Asia's Howe and Wetton were joined by Yes keyboardist Geoff Downes. Later Carl Palmer was recruited to join the supergroup. Asia's early albums were considered too commercial and radio friendly by fans of classic progressive rock. Asia instead caught on with fans of 80's radio rock bands like Journey and Boston. Asia's self-titled debut album was a huge commercial success and spent nine weeks at the top of the US album charts. The album spawned the hit singles "Only Time Will Tell" and "Heat of the Moment." The tune "Sole Survivor" also received heavy radio play on rock stations across the United States. Asia toured the US to packed arenas in 1982 and 1983. The MTV cable music video channel played Asia's videos for "Only Time Will Tell" and "Heat of the Moment" in heavy rotation. Asia's second album release Alpha could not repeat the overwhelming success of their first album, even though it peaked at #6. The power ballad "Don't Cry" did make the Top Ten in 1983, and "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes," barely cracked the top 40. |

I greatly feel that you are dooing yourselves as well as the world a huge misinjustice by not coming up with new tunes for you are not that old to be forgotten and you still are able to rock until at least in your 60s
